Weight Issues!

10 Years ago I was a size 24. Being only 5’2” I was much too heavy for my frame.  Walking to the shops would leave me weary and lethargic.  I was happy to just sit at home and not go anywhere.  My self-esteem was low. However, I always had the fashionista inside of me trying to get out, but when I walked into the shops my bubble was always burst – the clothes I had envisaged myself in didn’t exist in my size!

I decided to study Weight Consultancy as a way of understanding why I found it difficult to lose weight.  Why did I have such an addiction to food? I had been on numerous fad diets that didn’t work for me. I had tried slimming pills, starvation, the cheese and apple diet, the vegetable soup diet and even the tomato and cheese diet….they all left me with smelly breath and headaches!

It became my quest to find out.  Studying about the body, the digestive system as well as the psychology behind losing weight and how it could go so wrong helped me start on a journey that would see me drop over 2 dress sizes. I was practising what I had learnt. I slowly changed my eating habits to suit me and my lifestyle.

Therapy!

So, my eating habits had changed, I was losing weight.  I just had to sort out the psychological me.  My studies in counselling skills and theory touched on cognitive psychology. Retraining the mind in behavioural patterns was what I needed to do. So I did.  As part of my course I had to do a case study.  I found that counselling and using cognitive behavioural therapy not only empowered the person you were counselling, but gave them confidence to face the challenges they have in life.

From a complete stranger on a train platform, friends and women who write to me via my website and agony aunt column, I have coached many through a variety of life’s challenges.

So, today, I am a new person living a new life. Gone are the black and grey days. I can really laugh again and appreciate the people and things around me.  However, that's just part of my story. I have raised a family during my difficult times. I have three beautiful girls.  My eldest, I raised for four years as a lone parent. I know the struggles that most women have as a working mum, let alone a single-parent working mum.  The financial pressures can be huge. Bringing up children often requires one to be selfless, but it doesn't have to be that way. Keeping communication opened at every single stage of my children's lives has meant that they are not embarrassed to talk to me about anything.

I can teach you how to do the same.

Succeed in life, don’t let life succeed you! Let me help you open up a new chapter in your life and unleash the power within you. Take your world by storm!
